Tastes

Saltwater with hints of iodine and smoke on the nose, not harsh at all. This changes multiple times on the taste. The smoke up front seems different than the one that swells on the aftertaste, maybe a bit of salt at the beginning that gives way to pepper and is left with extinguished campfire and charred meat and back to salt. Fun ride.

The malt shows up on the nose as salty butter with a hint of sweet orange. The taste isn't much different than the nose with the malted barley taking center stage without much of a finish. Great value for the price.

Vanilla and brown sugar on the nose. The tiniest of hints of some sour wood if you dive deep. The taste is sweet and smooth, much like the nose. It’s a bourbon with all the edges smoothed off that ends up pretty pleasant.

Smoke on the nose, obviously, but with a bit of alcohol brightness. A little bit of iodine but not too prominent. Hints of smoked meats but not very rich. Salt and campfire smoke on the taste that lingers. Great peaty Scotch

Brown sugar and oak spice on the nose. Maybe a touch of citrus but not too much. Almost makes me think of a bourbon on the nose but subtle, also a tiny bit of saltiness. Sweet honey up front on the taste that ends with the same slight bitter after taste as a dark chocolate or almond. Smooth and delicious.

Classic Irish notes of honey, shortbread cookie, and a touch of apple on the nose. Same notes up front for the taste but the finish turns into cream and a hint of chocolate, but not overwhelmingly. A nice Irish especially for the price.

Tiniest bit of malt funk on the nose but balanced with sweet floral and honey. Just a bit of spice early with the same malt funk in the taste that quickly fades into basic mild sweetness and then it’s gone. Not bad. Reminds me of a friendlier Balvenie

Salt and floral nose with the tiniest hint of fruit and smoke. Light peat up front that turns from salt to a sweet Speyside finish. Easy drinker with a ton of character. Almost an intro to Islay.

Nuts and vanilla on the nose. Very nutty taste with a slight spice finish. Really nice and unique

Pear and honey on the nose. Dusty malt with a tiny bit of citrus ends with a floral note. Nothing intense. Nice, balanced, and easy
