If you want a real rye I recommend you buy a real rye. If you want a strange curiosity that doesn't really resemble rye that much, give this a try. Sometimes I find the port off-putting, sometimes I find this quite tasty. I prefer it straight, as I haven't found a cocktail I think it works really well in, but I still have half a bottle to work with...40.0 USD per Bottle

A staple in my cabinet! There are rye's that drink better straight, but most of them are at least double the price. It's the best mixing rye I've had. It makes a great old fashioned, a killer whiskey sour, and I'd take it over most bourbons in a mint julep. If you're thinking about a bottle of this pull the trigger!35.0 USD per Bottle

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 20, 2019 (edited August 11, 2019)A darn nice bourbon! A notch higher quality and more complex than most readily available bourbons in it's price range. Despite it's complexity, it still a smooth easy drinker. It also makes a bangin' old fashioned. If I have one complaint about the whiskey, it's that it can be too sweet at times, but the oak does do a nice job of balancing out the sweetness. It should be noted that I'm a bit adverse to sweet. Overall a winner!50.0 USD per Bottle -
Mortlach 12 Year "The Wee Witchie"
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 20, 2019 (edited June 25, 2019)I go back and forth on this whisky. I can pick up the taste described at "meaty". I sometimes find this note pleasing, other times off-putting. If you're looking for something interesting that won't break the bank I'd recommend it. In my area it's cheaper than a lot of entry level malts, and it defiantly isn't a boring whisky. However, if you are new to drinking Scottish whisky, I'd recommend sticking to the classics. Leave this to a more trained palate.45.0 USD per Bottle -
Ransom The Emerald 1865 Straight American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Oregon, USA
Reviewed June 20, 2019 (edited June 29, 2019)I love this distillery for their Old Tom Gin. I bought this bottle in Hawaii for an overpriced $95 because I was curious. It's interesting. The first night I tried it I had 3 drams and was quite impressed, although maybe not $95 impressed. After a few more tastings I began to pick up flaws. It's interesting and unlike anything else I've tried, but it's young whiskey that lacks polish and sophistication.95.0 USD per Bottle
