Tastes

Nose: Ethanol burn at first.... lots of burn. Baking spice with hints of brown sugar. Banana. Lite cherry as it sits. Palate: Rye spice. Dry oaky bite to sides. Lite banana again. Mild oilyness. Finish: Banana plant stalk almost chalky. Dry. Closing thoughts: Complex, surprisingly balanced. You think it’s developing into a oaky dry finish then it transitions to be somewhat more textured and oily.

Barreled on: Jan 5, 2011 Bottled on: Nov 13, 2018 This barrel was just okay as a Bourbon. However, for the price how can you fault it. A touch too thin without enough spice or vanilla to fill the palate. PAID: $26

Pros: vanilla, heavy dose of bananas, slight caramel on the mid palate. Cons: Thin, tannic, more ethanol burn than a 43% should have, simple notes, very short finish.
