Clyde May's Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Alabama, USA
Reviewed January 22, 2022 (edited April 3, 2022)A decent pour. Hints of caramel/brown sugar first followed by some oak and baking spice. Average finish with spice holding on a bit. Not sorry I ordered it, but won’t be putting it on my “gotta have” list. -

New Riff Red Turkey Wheated Bourbon
Bourbon — kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 11, 2021 (edited December 7, 2021)New Riff rarely disappoints. This wheated offering is made with an heirloom red turkey wheat (25%) usually used in baking. The result is a five year complex and surprisingly zesty bourbon. Somewhat smokey and earthy, there is an underlying fruity sweetness with hints of chocolate on the finish. A very limited release on this one, but a fine addition to the New Riff lineup.49.99 USD per Bottle -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2021-02 "Tagalong Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 11, 2021 (edited July 8, 2021)Another solid entry into the Booker’s line. Initially sweet on the tongue (especially for a high proofer) with vanilla and raw sugar notes. Then fills in with cinnamon and pepper after a bit and then a trace of peanuts before a fairly mellow finish. Any lingering spice remains on the tongue. There is virtually no “Kentucky hug” down the throat at all. Might be a tad pricey, but certainly not sorry I bought it.90.0 USD per Bottle -
If you’re a fan of high peppery, high octane Ryes, this one isn’t for you. If you don’t mind a good subtle smoky sipper, then this one is worth a chance. Flavor is rather unique, but pleasant. Not the usual clove, cinnamon, vanilla or caramel notes in most Ryes. More malt, smoke and leather. A cousin of the Irish Whiskys it’s based on. Slightly sweet finish.
