Nose: caramel, honey, milk chocolate with caramel and honey. Taste: wet wood, dry, oak spice and caramel taffy. Finish: medium

Smell: Rye spice, leather, grahm crackers, hints of cinnamon and dried fruit. Toasted oak comes through after 15min in a glen. Taste: Steak spice,. Toasted wood, wet forest and earthy tobacco. Finish: long spice finish, oily mouthfeel.

Smell: Warm leather, oak, and notes of sweet confection. Taste: Baking spice and oak with honey. Finish: long finish, lower viscosity with lingering oak. If you like oak, this is a crushable bottle that goes easy in a hardy cocktail. Neat makes for a nice, warming pour next to a fireplace.

Barrel # 23-08404 Barrel house # 2-05 Bottling date: 9/19/2023 ABV: 64.7% Proof: 129.4 Smell: Vanilla, banana, and graham crackers fill the top of the glass. Honey and oak round out the secondary notes with char filling the cracks. Taste: Barrel char spice, oak, vanilla and hints of caramel. Finish: Char spice and wood linger. The sip is nice, oily, and coats the entire palate.

Liquor Lineup Store Pick Barrel: 6612909 Proof: 126.3 ABV: 63.65 Age: 9 years Smell: Caramel, vanilla and soft milk chocolate come to the front while wet oak and raisen cookies hold the rear together. Toasty char and brown sugar glue it all together. Taste: Char, oak, and brownsuger mix for a classic and robust “bourbon” characteristic. Slight oak spice at the end without dryness. Finish: oak and dark brown sugar stay on the palate. The finish is thick and coating leaving me with “bourbon breath” due to the lingering notes. This drinks hot but there is so much intense flavor that the experice blinds the user to the proof.

Vanilla bread fills the cracks. Taste: barrel char with kitchen spices. Candy sweet sits in the front of the palate. Finish: lingering char and overall woody notes remain up to the next sip. Medium viscosity that coats the top palate and tounge well. There is an overall brightness to this sip with some “farm”. Very enjoyable. I wonder what would happen with a bit more time in the barrel.
