Pusser's Rum Original Admiralty Blend (Blue Label)
Navy Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed August 31, 2020I haven't tried this straight yet, but in a Jungle Bird it was delicious. For the price, it's amazing, and I actually prefer it to some more expensive rums (at least in cocktails so far, I'm sure sipping it would be a different story). -
Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
Fruit Liqueurs — Veneto, Italy
Reviewed August 31, 2020 (edited June 4, 2021)I held off buying this for a months despite seeing it listed as an ingredient in endless cocktails because, based off some comments online, I was worried it would overpower my drinks and I'd hate the flavor. I was expecting a somewhat medicinal, cough syrup flavor, but that was totally off-base. This is sweet, in a similar way to Chartreuse Green, bright and has an hints of something like cinnamon. In a cocktail (The Symphony) it added a roundness that was really nice. The recipe called for a decent amount of Luxardo, and I didn't find it overpowering at all. Definitely recommend having a bottle on hand. -
Not a fan of this one, but that's not to say it isn't good (my partner likes it just fine). The walnut flavor is pretty strong so it limits the ability to use this in cocktails calling for bourbon. Wouldn't buy again, but if you're a big walnut fan, you might want to give it a go (just don't plan on it replacing a standard bourbon).
