Nose: Spice, Light-Oak, Small Hints of Over-Ripe Banana, Gentle Citrus Vanilla, Generic Dried Fruits, Malt, Burnt Sugar. Palate: Cooking spices, Light Oak Tannins, Brown Sugar, Orange Citrus, Dates, Vanilla, Lingering Syrupy Body. A really wonderful dram, good price for this too considering whisky prices in the states at the moment. It opens with a balance of warm oak tannins and baking spices then transitions into a decadent array of subtle sweetness. The sweetness comes primarily from the Spanish oak, I'm uncertain if its ex sherry because it isn't giving off your typical sherry cask notes. Then again it could be a sherry I've never had before. Anyway buy the Speyburn 15 its good shit 👍.90.0 USD per BottleUncle Ike's Bottle Shop

Bunnahabhain 12 Year Cask Strength (2022 Edition)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 28, 2023 (edited September 4, 2023)Nose: Vanilla, Dark Stewed Fruits, Salinity, Malty Cream, Demerara Syrup, Raisin, Pepper, Toffee, Toast. Palate: Coa-coa, Spice, Light Brine, Full oily body, Sweet Dried Fruits, Toffee, Mild Oak Tannins, Candy Orange Citrus. Great whisky, it takes a minute to open up, but being patient with this dram is well worth it. It is a bit abrasive at first and gives the robustness of a cask strength whisky. Lots of Spice, Coa-coa and Pepper on the front. Once you get through the spices though you get a burst of sweeter notes. Toffe, Vanilla, Dark Fruits, Sweet Orange-Citrus, and mild oak tannins round out the whisky.100.0 USD per BottleBlackwell's Wines & Spirits -
Octomore 13.1
Peated Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 24, 2023 (edited September 4, 2023)Nose: Heavy Earthy Peat Moss, Earthy Pepper, Salinity, Sugar Cookie Vanilla, Wet Charcoal, Sharpie, Under- Ripe Banana, Over-Ripe Apple, Decaying White Flowers. Palate: Full Oily Body, Brine, Pepper, Malt, Heavy Honey, Vanilla, Ripe Apple, Ash, Heavy Earthy Peat Smoke, Ripe Banana, Long Meaty Protein Smokey finish. The best way to deacribe this whisky; Like eating a sugar cookie thats been left in a peat bog for a week with a side of fruity oatmeal. What a phenomenal bottle of whisky! I am absolutely blown away by the myriad of flavors and smells one can experience in this bottle. Such unique smells that remind me of hikes I've done on the Washington coast line that cross large peat bogs.Ripe and under ripe fruits that co-exist with decaying wild flowers. Charcoal, ash, wet cinders, heavysmoke. Absolutely incredible! This has to be one of the best whiskies I've had if not the best. Even if it did cost me almost $300 in my market. I am so happy to have been able to enjoy it and experience it and have shared it with friends, co workers, family. Dont forget to share your whisky folks, it is better enjoyed with those you care about than just by yourself. My bottle is almost gone so I figured it was about time I wrote a review on it. If you ever happen across one, BUY IT!!! For a reasonable price of course....or maybe even slightly unreasonable.280.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Longmorn 16 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 24, 2023 (edited September 4, 2023)Nose: Honey, Maple Syrup, Light Raisin, Grass, Stone Fruit, Cereal grain, Apple, Vanilla, Sharp Lemon Citrus. Palate: Lightly Dried Fruit, Malt,Umami, Quince, Grass, Nuts, Apple, Tangy Citrus, Light Floral notes, Long but Mild Lemony Vanilla finish. This is a robust whisky, very spirit forward, strong citrus throughout, sharp around the edges with the quince notes but underneath all that there are hints of sweetness that compliment the whisky well. I personally was hoping for a little bit more of the honey and maple syrup I got on the nose but I still found it very enjoyable. If you're looking for an interesting whisky this is a great bottle to snag.153.0 USD per BottleUncle Ike's Bottle Shop -
Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013
Single Malt — Islay , Scotland
Reviewed August 3, 2023 (edited August 5, 2023)Nose: Ripe Apple, Pear, Vanilla, Malt Sweetness, Pepper, Honeysuckle, Floral notes, cookie dough. Palate: Malt Sugar, Umami, Vanilla, Apple, Light Honey, Full and Oily, sweet Peppery Finish. A wonderful bottle of whisky from Bruichladdich, and a unique expression of Islay whisky that is unpeated. Full, oily, rich, complex, lots of malt sweetness mixes with light fruits, pepper, and hints of honey. Long malt and saline finish. Much better than the classic laddie in my opinion. The difference in complexity comes down to age. Even though this has a strong spirit influence the few extra years spent in the barrel really helps make this whisky something special.62.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 3, 2023 (edited August 5, 2023)Nose: Toffee, Vanilla, Honey, Oak, Caramel, Ginger- Snap, Artificial Cherry. Palate: Oak Tannins, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Sweet cereal grain finish. This is a pretty solid whiskey, if it can be found at MSRP ($40-$50). Just like most of Buffalo Trace's whiskies, it has been elevated to a point of ridiculous value and doesn't quite live up to its reputation. The nose was misleading and left me hoping for a more exciting palate. Strong entry with a burst of oak and vanilla, lots of barrel spice on the mid palate, short and almost non existent finish, lingering cereal grain sweetness.80.0 USD per BottleRedmond Ridge Spirits LLC -
[Re-review] Nose: Ripe Fruit, Honey, Malt, Malt Funk, Butterscotch. Palate: Caramel, Sharp Grassiness, Nectarine, Honey, Spice. A light easy to drink whisky. Fantastic for beginners, a fantastic whisky for the summer months, a solid budget whisky, and a good whisky to help friends stuck on large name brands to explore other distilleries. The Speyburn 10 is a relatively simple whisky, but for the price there are few other whiskies that can compete, real solid stuff.30.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Scottish Barley
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 11, 2023 (edited August 7, 2023)Nose: Vanilla, Apple, Malt Sugar, Pear, White Pepper. Palate: Malt Sweetness, Spirit Firward, Light Vanilla, Salinity, Spice, Full Oily Body, Light Pear Finish A solid whisky, its not very complex but thats okay. A strong malt forward taste makes up most of the palate, full and oily with a little bit of salinity and a light fruit finish. A little bit too spirit forward for my taste, I personally enjoy the Islay Barley 2013 more. For about the same price you can get a much better tasting whisky in my opinion. More fruit, more vanilla, and almost the same amount of malt without a super heavy spirit forward taste on the mid palate.19.0 USD per PourMox Boarding House -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye Bottled in Bond
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 18, 2023 (edited September 4, 2023)Nose: Banana Laffy Taffy, Cotton Candy, Clove, Honey, Burnt Bread, Peaches, Generic Rye Sweetness, Alcohol. Palate: Honey, Rye Toast, Banana Taffy, Pepper, Cherry, Oak, Caramel. A great bottle of rye, again if you can find it at MSRP, but that seems to be a reoccurring theme with most Buffalo Trace products. A bit heavy with the ethyl alcohol notes on the nose bur still awesome. Rich, sweet, and peppery. Not overly complex, but it still provides a robust and enjoyable taste.99.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 18, 2023 (edited September 4, 2023)Nose: Maple Syrup, Honey, Oak, Cninnamon, Blood Orange, Vanilla, Corn Sweetness. Palate: Caramel, Sweet Cereal Grain, Fig Newton, Lemon Confi, Pastry Bread, Brown Sugar, Raisin, Hints of a Bitter Oak Finish. I've been surprised twice now by the Buffalo Trace distillers, I think this whiskey does really live up to the hype. Old Rip presents the drinker with flavors you will rarely ever get in whiskey, especially in bourbon, and its all thanks to that wheat they sneak into the mash. Sweet bready notes, dark dried fruits, jam, and amazing notes of granular sweetness as well. If you ever have a chance to try this whiskey, go for it (if the price is right). I got a small sample bottle from a co worker who won the lottery at our local Total Wine, and I am so grateful to have been able to try this whiskey for free. It is worth it if you can get it around msrp give or take $50. I am pleased and surprised by the quality of this whiskey, get one if you can.Total Wine & More
