Tastes

Used to be a huge fan but it's been at least 4 years since I last tried this and honestly, I'm not too impressed. I'm picking up a ton of corn that leads me to believe that this just needs more time in the barrel. Still a decent bourbon for the price and better than many overpriced NDPs.

Rich and oily. Been many years since I last tried this. Picked up sweet cotton candy notes on my first taste. Not as sweet on subsequent sips. Long finish that reminds me that even in 2020, there's still plenty of quality bourbon you can regularly find on the shelf.

Still a great value buy. Signature nutty taste that makes it pretty unique IMHO. A little thin that results in a quick ride, but solid for the price.

Such a solid rye. Great sipper during the summer. I'm not much of a rye fan but this is still one of the best I've tried.

Dinking neat, no water. Full bodied and oily. Pick up a lot of oak for being 12 years. Lots of caramel and vanilla on the pallette with spice on the finish.

Pick up on a fair amount of oak.

Sweet, oily, full body. Not as peanut buttery/nutty as I was hoping. UPDATE: The longer this bourbon had to open up, the better it got. It really grew on me.

Almost tasted like a straight rye to me. Not my cup of tea. Didn't live up to the hype.
