Maker's Mark 101
Bourbon
Maker's Mark // Kentucky, USA
Maker's Mark 101 is a Kentucky straight bourbon which had previously only been available to select visitors of the Loretto based distillery to sample. Then the brand released 101 as a global travel retail bottling and packaged it in liter sized bottles.
However, as of 2020 the 101 proof is now available as a limited edition release. Same wheated bourbon recipe as the flagship bottling, but at 101 proof instead of 90 proof.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is a fruity and earthy mix of aromas with notes of fresh, ripe apricots, fresh golden apples, clove, cinnamon, leather book binding, and black tea. The palate is rich and roasty, with flavors of caramel popcorn, roasted peanuts (Ok, fine, Cracker Jacks), apricot jam, sour cherries, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cedar wood, and milk chocolate. The richness carries into the finish, with the tangy fruit and spice shuttling things along. "
