Very smooth, slightly sweet, a little bit spicy. This one borrows flavors from Irish and American varieties, which can't be a bad thing.

Considering the price, this is one amazing blended Scotch! Much more flavorful than Dewar's, and priced considerably lower than Johnnie Walker Black. This is an everyday kind of Scotch. Wouldn't be upset if we polished off a full bottle in a night. Wouldn't be surprised either.

It's a little sharp on the tongue, and in the back of the throat. But it has a spicy, smoky flavor, and a very smooth and balanced aftertaste. Not perfect, but very solid offering from Laphroaig!

I was looking for a non-scotch whiskey to mix with soda. This fit the bill perfectly. It also is enjoyable with ice. Is it complex? No. But sometimes simplicity is good. And you can't beat the price.
