Tastes

Scent of cherry and a hint of almost baking spices or greeting card shop spices. Pillowy soft mouth feel, sweet on the palate like the name states. Cherry/fruit like then notes of vanilla and a hint of toasted oak. Very pleasing.

"F-Rye Day Pour Batch -- MI" Heat with Beam funk on the nose. Noticeable rye spice and the right amount of heat of the palate finishing with more Beam funk. The Beam funk never bothers me in their products, but this one presents it the strongest of any of their offerings I've had so far.

Neck pour. Sweet sweet sweet. Buttercream, frosting, vanilla, nougat, and some bananas foster. Thin on the mouth feel and quick on the finish.

My first high proof bourbon and I'll be looking to get another bottle soon. Sweet, syrupy, hint of Beam peanut on the finish with just the right amount of spice and heat.

"Kissed by an Angel" single barrel. This single barrel rye leans more toward the bourbon spectrum with syrupy sweet notes of vanilla and oak with just a hint of rye heat and spice on the palate.

Spicy, earthy, and grassy. The wood notes in this remind me of musty old basement. Really shines as a mixer in cocktails.

For MSRP, I can understand the accolades. It is a very good bourbon that showcases typical bourbon notes in an approachable way. The right mix of oak, cherry, and vanilla notes.

Has a note that reminds me a bit of Jameson, which makes sense since they are from the same distillery. Otherwise, it's got a sweet, honey-like note combined with a bit of rye spice heat dancing around my mouth.

Sweet with some alcohol and rye heat with just the right amount of Beam peanut.

Batch #20A15 drank neat. Reminds me of other blended scotch whisky like Johnnie Walker. Sweet and peated with some of the rye notes dancing on my tongue. A couple drops of water tempers to peat and brings out more of the sweet notes.
