Arran 12 Pinot Noir Danish Retailers
Single Malt — Isle of Arran, Scotland
Reviewed November 10, 2020Nose: You can smell the wine cask in here but not as much as some other Pinot.Very fresh, spicy oak, mineral sugars, light red fruits. Seems more like a merlot than a pinot for me. Mouth: wonderfull texture for the abv, fresh fruits again, some delicate spices, not very complex but easy drinker. Final: Short, dry, citrus.. quite sad. -
Ledaig 1998 Marsala 21yo
Single Malt — Mull, Scotland
Reviewed November 7, 2020 (edited April 5, 2021)Nose: Tropical Fruits, Ginger, Apples, some floral notes. Not much peaty, the age must cover it. Mouth: surprising me are the Oloroso type spices notes, lots of burned apples and smoked nuts. Some peaches coming afterwards, wonderful texture and light but tasty peat. Final: Wonderful, thats what you expect of a well made and aged whisky. -
Glendronach 25 Year Old 1992 Single Cask (Cask #83)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020Nose: sherry bomby, dusty and spicy. Dark chocolate, plums, lots of cloves and oak. Makes me think of a barrel forgotten in a basement with spider webs all over it. Mouth: plums, dark fruits, cinnamon, chocolate, blackberry, figs. I mean theres a lot in here. Final: tasty and wonderful. A little short on the spices thought. -
Glenfarclas 25 London Edition TWE
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020 (edited May 11, 2021)Nose: Sherry Sherry Sherry....pineapples, candy sugar, delicate cinnamon. Mouth: Rich, delicate, berries, cinnamon, figs, dusty taste, definitely aged. Final: flowing perfectly, lots of sherry flavors, final is what you would expect from a 20y+ sherry bomb. This could be a px as well as an Oloroso. Spices are delicate which is probably not a huge oloroso barrel in terms of flavors versus a similar age statement glendronach. -
Bruichladdich Micro-Provenance Chateau Lafite 1991

Bruichladdich Micro-Provenance Chateau Haut-Brion 1990
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020Nose: Wow!!! Old & Wine Cask together. Its unbelievable. Soft fruits, rich, light acidity and very typical of a Bordeaux Cask Mouth: Not sure what to say in here. This is sooooo well made. The cask influence is perfect. The full power of a vintage wine cask. Red berries, dusty and floral. Acidity is on point. Power is on point. Final: never ending... look, get this what ever the cost. -
Glen Scotia 14 Year Tawny Port Finish (2020 Campbeltown Malts Festival)
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020 (edited November 21, 2020)Nose: Red fruits, very light peat, cherry, copper/metal Campbeltown as usual Mouth: Red fruits again, spices and then smooth vanilla, like ice cream. Spices are hard to get, id say a little cinnamon but the ending is more sharp and less hot. Final: typical sherry cask finish, port would match the sharp ending and high pitch spices. Not my favorite finish but its a good one. Easy drinking and pleasant whisky. -
Glen Scotia 11 Year Sherry Double Cask Finish
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020Nose: Marshmallow, Salty Caramel, malty & copper notes classical Campbeltown and some acidic like lime, not citrus. Mouth: Soft, Rich, wonderful sugar, farmy malt, again marshmallow is the keynote for me Final: very soft for the abv, rich and mouthwatering, the flavors transforms into some delicat spices that reminds me of christmas sugar cane. This dram is very wellpriced and delicious. -
Big Peat 33 Year Cognac & Sherry Cask Finish
Blended Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 5, 2020Nose: pears, ashes(Caol Ila style), citrus, orange marmelade, "sirop simple". Cognac influence makes me think more of a rivesaltes/muscat type. Mouth: nice texture, mineral, spices are coming right away, mouth watering, orange peel, ginger, very soft peat, some pineapples, roasted nuts. Final: Spices are going down, lots of orange, alcohol is absent its very nice, flavors are going away a bit too quickly though. Very pleasant whisky, bottle as just been open. I will revisit this one in a couple weeks when it has opened up. Normally doesnt like bigpeats but the aged one are a drastic change.
