Bunnahabhain 30 years old
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 25, 2020 (edited April 23, 2021)Ok Folks!!! Looks like im the first to judge this here. NOSE: Salty, Waxy, delicate seaweed, apples, cookies and cream, butterscotch, i would say something like the Bunna 12 with a dusty, salty combo. MOUTH: the texture is miles ahead of the 25 wowww!!! Oak, ginger, dried strawberries, some background sherry. FINAL: longgggg, i wouldnt expect this but its drying quickly, spices are growing quickly and staying a while. -Wonderful edition but pricewise the 25 is ahead. More typical Bunna spices pumch on this one -
Bunnahabhain 25 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 25, 2020 (edited January 9, 2022)NOSE: berries in maple sirup, cinnamon, copper, fresh orange zest. MOUTH: sugar pie, cinnamon, small berries, apples, less freshness more old dusty taste, delicate cloves and nutmeg, delicate vanilla FINAL: Spices from the oak are staying for a while, dusty wood, delicate but tasty. Easy to know this is a wonderful and aged whisky. Not that much Bunnahabhain identity thought. -
Hi, its Kevin from #DailyDramMontreal Nose: toffee, spicy peppers, cinnamon, berries, pineapple... very rich Mouth: Round, lighter than expected, cinnamon bust, very close to the nose indication, light chocolate, cookie & pastries. Final: Tasty and sweet, easy and well balanced. Its missing some abv, 46-48% wouldve been way better. Fruits are a bit too absent on the final.

Waterford Ballykilcavan Edition 1.1
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed November 24, 2020 (edited March 5, 2021)Nose: Amaretto LOL, apples, walnuts, white pepper, apricots. Mouth: Fresh, Light, very slight spices growing exponantially, orange marmelade, very different from the nose. Vegetal, mineral, very earthy, great example of terroir and a halfsecond taste of fruits. Very quick. Final: very easy on the tongue with a pepper kick and some slight fruits in the midway. This recipe could be VERY interesting with a different barrel. I will follow up for sure. -
Kilchoman Red Wine Finish Single Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 15, 2020 (edited April 2, 2021)Nose: Peat, mineral, red fruits, citrus, peppery (young), cherry candy Mouth: texture is wonderful, powerful, acidity of the wine cask is there, fruity, the peat is mixing perfectly with the cask selection. Final: Intense, long, mouthwatering, delicate smoke and the wine cask bringa some fruits and surprisingly some salt. Wonderful dram!!! -
Nose: Fresh, Red Fruits, oak, vanilla, light smoke, some salt as usual with Bowmore, Orange marmelade Mouth: Texture is incredible, buttery, rich, beautiful fruits, mix between red fruits and melon, the salt is more delicate in here and the smoke as well. Very well balanced spices from the oak which is showing the quality of this cask and bottling. Final: tasty as ****, very rich and unlike most of the time, the smoke disapear before the fruits. Very impressive.

Nose: honey, vanilla, light smoke, citrus, coastal notes. Mouth: Salt, salt and salt, light peat, vanilla and citrus again, some delicate fruits, oak is in background. The sweet notes are messing with me at they would appear to be from an old and too often used sherry cask. A bit too low abv. This edition at 48% would be a wow. Final: a lot of salt again and some wood ripe. Citrus aciditt in background.
