Compass Box The Peat Monster (Classic Brown Label)
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed April 8, 2018 (edited April 20, 2018)The nose is dominated by the alcohol or varnish. It doesn't beguile on the aroma but alerts to a punch. On the taste Peat obviously makes itself known early. Broaching in mossy in terms of the earthy note. The wood is old or used, like wet floorboards. Looking beyond there's definitely a dry patch on the back that fades to leave the woody notions to linger. Theres some nuttiness behind the tang, a touch of old fruits and ashiness. Benefits with a touch of water, no question.
