Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 17, 2020 (edited February 25, 2021)Mellow mild first taste. Oily. Butter. Maybe floral. Directly into a milder peat. Fading into a sea salt flavor with a longer lasting mild finish with some light sweeter floral and honey flavors. Easy light sipper with a mild peat. -
Nose: iodine. Smoke. Like a campfire by the sea. Smoke. A little burn that is hiding something I can’t quite figure out. (Edit: cream/whipped cream) Black pepper punch. Briney. Very long and dry finish, with a lasting warmth. Feels stronger and sharper than my other islays. Rough, in a deliciously bold way. The more I drink the sweeter and creamier it gets. Pretty amazing
