This leaves a lot to be desired. Aroma-wise, there is a clear coffee front, with undertones of molasses and a dark fruit, maybe cherry. In terms of taste though...meh. It's got the bitterness of coffee, and that's about the end of it. I don't find any complexities or interesting notes beyond that. I keep wanting to add cream and sugar, but I'm sure that wouldn't help. Thankfully, an ice cube smoothed it out a bit.

Maker's Mark Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 15, 2020 (edited September 19, 2020)It's nice and warming all around. It smells most of vanilla, with hints of honey and fruit. The taste is spiced, nutty, with a touch of cocoa or coffee on the back end. There is a nice lingering finish. -
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 13, 2020 (edited November 5, 2020)The aroma has notes of banana, raisin, and molasses. The taste is a little muddled, but not at all unpleasant. I get a vague melange of fruits and some brown sugar. It's overall nice and enjoyable, and not especially complex. I bet it would make delicious mixed drinks. -
It's a medium amber, definitely dark for a Jameson. My first impressions of the aroma are banana, followed by cream, vanilla, and caramel. The taste is tough to place at first, but there are notes of cherry and chocolate that appear at the finish. It's a bit complex, but enjoyable. Makes for a nice sipper.

The aroma is subtle and sweet. It's difficult to draw much specificity out of it, but I seem to smell pear and apple faintly in the distance. The taste is a little warmer than regular blend, though to be honest, I was hoping for a stronger showing from the hops. I can detect a little of the classic IPA bitterness at the back end, but again, it is very subtle. It's not unenjoyable at all, but it's not quite as distinctive as I would have hoped.

It's a nice medium amber. I smell grape and berries, followed by spice and vanilla. The taste is of a full-bodied spice, definitely cinnamon in there. There's cherry, raisin, orange and dark chocolate. There is a lingering bite at the back of the throat, but it's warming. I found it overall improved with a little water.
