Tastes

Overall not great, not bad. The nose is full of fruit, raisin, and honey. The taste is a little empty feeling. Spice and woodiness come through pretty strong, but not very rich for a sherry finished whisky. The light color is a bit of a giveaway in that reapect. If it was more expensive I would have been disappointed, but for $33 I can't complain. A good scotch to share with a friend you aren't trying to impress, or as your 3rd or 4th glass of the night.

Nose is full of sweet honey and fresh flowers. The taste is fairly rich with cinnamon spice, dark chocolate and oakiness. Mild finish.

Oddly gentle and light for an Islay whisky. Classic peat and brininess but not overpowering, faint fruity notes, and mild spice and pepper to finish. Overall, very smooth and drinkable. Adding water really cut through the peat and brought out the fruit, especially pear.

The color is a gorgeous amber, and the taste is just as full and rich as you would hope. Sweet and smooth to start, giving way to ashy tobacco smoke on the finish. A nice lingering spicy tingle, but not too hot. Excellent whisky.
