Light gold colour. Nose: Very strong stone fruit of Peach and Apricots with citrus and supple baking spices like cinnamon and vanilla. Palate: Peaches followed by light baking spices which follows through the nose. A medium long finish of oak and spices which are very pleasant. Key note the freshness of stone fruit is very pronounce in the nose and follow through with the palate strongly.

Speyburn 18 was released to commemorate the 18th anniversary of Bobby Anderson as the distillery manager. The colour is brownish amber colour with thick long legs slowly coming down the glass. The first thing that hit your nose is Toffee followed by tropical fruits with light smokiness. The palate brings the fruitiness to the forefront followed by peppery spiciness which leads to lasting and satisfying finish. The best thing is how it smoothly transits from nose to palate to finish, every part balanced and in harmony.

Glenfiddich 18 Year Our Small Batch Eighteen
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 22, 2022The best of this 18YO is the nose. It has a nice toffee and zesty fruity aroma with cinnamon. Palate is thin which make this very easy to drink but I really hope for the mouthfeel richness but at this price point it's much to ask. There's honey, fruitiness and toffee in taste. The finish is medium short with light spices. -
Starward Octave Barrels (Yalumba The Octavious)
Single Malt — Victoria, Australia
Reviewed November 5, 2022 (edited June 3, 2023)Light copper coloured and young whiskey. Nose: raisins, apples, peach, plums, menthol, sweet caramel goodness, toasted oak. Palate: thick vicious as a young whiskey, very forward with spice and black forest fruits in the background. Finish is medium long with lingering spiciness and oak. There is good balance but I wish for a more complex palate but nonetheless it's a well executed expression for a 3 year old Australian whiskey in Yalumba Barossa Shiraz Octave Barrels maturation. -
Nose: Fruitiness, Vanilla and Citrus. The best part is no strong alcohol smell. A very nice nose. Palate: Sweet Citrusy Oranges with light baking spices, well balanced and with no harshness of the alcohol. A long finish which is so warming... You can't find these characteristics in single malt whiskies hence we need more Coffey malts whiskies!

GlenAllachie 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 8, 2022 (edited November 24, 2022)Nose: raisins, light spice, water will bring out the chocolate. Palate: raisins, fruit cake and mild spices with a medium short bitter finish. Great balance to an overly sweet dram. Best to keep an opened bottle a week before tasting again and try 1-2 drops of water to bring out more flavours.
