GlenAllachie 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 8, 2022 (edited November 24, 2022)Nose: raisins, light spice, water will bring out the chocolate. Palate: raisins, fruit cake and mild spices with a medium short bitter finish. Great balance to an overly sweet dram. Best to keep an opened bottle a week before tasting again and try 1-2 drops of water to bring out more flavours. -
Talisker Dark Storm
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed September 29, 2022 (edited March 18, 2023)Nose: Peat followed by black pepper and red chillies and hidden within are sweet honey and fruits. Palate: The heavily charred cask brings out the peat and the strong spiciness of black pepper and red chillies following by honey sweetness and peat. long finish with continuing spiciness. I recommend leaving an opened bottle in your cabinet for a week or more before evaluating the taste. I feel the malt really settles down and becomes more balanced and smooth.
