Glenlivet 1972 40 Year (Kirkland Signature)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 8, 2019 (edited October 12, 2022)it's a very nice single malt but I was hoping for alot more at that price and age. very light finish. maybe it because it's just 40% alc. there was nothing particularly memorable about it. I'll give it another shot when we have company so I can get a second opinion. maybe I wasn't in the right mood or I was just expecting way too much. I would much rather have some of my other aged single malts. bushmill 21 is my current favorite that I have. it feels much richer and more balanced than this 40 yr old. I was expecting something more like that. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2015-03 "The Center Cut"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2019 (edited December 21, 2019)I was a little afraid of the 63.6% alcohol but decided to have it without water to really taste it. love it! the sweet and heat slowly expands and covers your whole mouth. alot of caramel up front. wonderful finish. drink this slowly, small sips, and feel it warm you as it goes all the way down. -
Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 5, 2019 (edited March 6, 2020)this is much better than I remembered. it smells like a burbon and drinks like a rye. alot of caramel up front but alot of spice. the finish is fantastic. lasts and lasts. very strong but still goes down easily. it's not something that i'd drink regularly. it's alot. but at the end of a long week, it's just the ticket. -
