This bottle delivers exactly what it promises. The palate starts with a bit of oak before the rich, creamy Madagascar vanilla takes over. I think of vanilla ice cream drizzled with honey. Toward the finish, there are faint banana notes, then a warm, almost floral aftertaste. It’s sweet, easy-drinking, and unmistakably something for dessert. There's not too much more complexity than that; just a bold vanilla statement that dominates from start to finish, but in a good way. A way that's not overpowering, and is easy to come back for more without any ice or mixer.

Early Times Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 18, 2025 (edited October 2, 2025)This bourbon has a moderately sweet, warm profile from the start without being overly spicy. The oak is mellow and easygoing. It carries a nice vanilla character throughout. The profile becomes quite smooth midway through the sip, with a touch of warmth coming back at the finish. At a low price and in a 1L bottle, it’s a solid deal. -
This bourbon delivers a good experience with a pronounced sweet and vanilla profile that greets the palate, followed by a satisfying finish of dark, toasty flavors. The body is robust and it gives a pleasing mouthfeel which makes it an enjoyable sip, though it lacks a bit in complexity, keeping it from reaching the upper tiers of depth. For the price, it’s a solid value, offering a well-rounded and approachable pour that’s great for casual sipping.

Filibuster Single Estate Single Barrel Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Virginia, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2025 (edited August 16, 2025)Hits hard with a harsh alcohol flavor and a rough nose that stings with ethanol, masking subtler notes. It’s not overly sweet, but the abrasive burn dominates, making it a challenging sip. Better suited for cocktails than sipping neat. It's bold, but its character is a bit unbalanced. -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon

Reviewed August 7, 2025 (edited August 16, 2025)This bourbon presents a gentle, understated profile with a mild overall character. A subtle oak note takes center stage, lending a touch of warmth, though no single flavor dominates. A hint of sweetness rounds out the experience, making it a smooth, easy-drinking option for those who prefer a softer, less assertive pour. -
Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 8, 2022 (edited October 2, 2025)Offers a smooth and mild flavor profile, with no single note overpowering the others, resulting in a light and effortlessly approachable sip when enjoyed neat. Its gentle character makes it less suited for drinking on the rocks, as the dilution would retract what little profile is already there. While it rises slightly above the standard fare, it remains fairly straightforward, lacking the complexity some might seek. For those who appreciate a mild, easy-drinking bourbon, this is a fair choice. It could also serve as a base for cocktails, though it will primarily contribute alcohol content rather than distinctive flavor.
