1792 Full Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 1, 2019 (edited March 12, 2019)This is such a good bottle for the price. Let me tell you a secret, drink this bottle second, never first. It always pops off the bat with fruit, i really don’t taste fruit in pretty much any other bourbons. And honestly i dont taste fruit in the bottle unless i drink it 2nd or 3rd. I drank this bottle in a flight with can winkle 10, van winkle 12, GTS, and 4roses 130, and it holds its own. If you don’t own this, you need to. Period.40.0 USD per BottleHouston -
You simply will not find a rich delicious bottle like this for this price. This is an insanely strong thick rich mature bourbon. The flavors, well, its what you can detect but this bottle will satisfy the GTS and WLW lovers out there. You like the old thick 130 proof BTAC bottles? Well here is a great alternative. In fact. I am not sure if i rank this bottle or GTS higher. Need more tasting... :)55.0 USD per BottleHouston

Smooth Ambler Old Scout 107 Proof American Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — Indiana and Tennessee (Bottled in West Virginia), USA
Reviewed February 18, 2019 (edited June 4, 2020)A solid 3 star bourbon. This was a barrel pick out of NOLA. At 107 proof this bottle is relatively smooth with lots of flavor. It has that young unfinished taste, i bet finishing this bottle for a few more tears would be amazing. That said, fir $40 this is a great bottle to own. Its not a knock your socks off bourbon, but its rich with flavor, and worth a spot on your shelf.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Uncle Nearest 1856 Tennessee Whiskey (Sourced Whiskey)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 16, 2019 (edited November 1, 2019)So know what you are getting into here. This is a very smooth but very extreme flavored whiskey. Its going to hit you hard with the smokey wood on the palate. This bottle would be amazing for smokey old fashion. Its almost not even oak, i feel like i’m sipping jack daniels (but much smoother) and eating pecan smoked pork sausage. It will remind you of a texas bourbon, just way better tasting and not sweet at all. So if u want some unique woody smoke in your life, grab a bottle. But if you are looking for sweet bourbon, this is not your bottle. -
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 15, 2019 (edited February 16, 2019)Love it. Just so damn good. And the price is so reasonable. Great bourbon -
I’m going with a 3.5. This is a good solid bourbon, and a good solid value for the price. BUT...its not delicious, its quite bland, no real finish, nothing special. Now really read what i’m saying here, its not bad and a great price for the proof and flavor, but i bet if it had an age statement it would be maybe 4 years. Now let’s talk about what this would be with more age. I think with some age this would be amazing, i can only imagine if willet aged this baby for 10-12 years, adding some complexity and more flavor depth. This has so much potential. I may try to age it with a little charred oak on my own.50.0 USD per BottleHouston

Ya know, i’m really not a huge booker’s fan. It’s pretty decent bourbon, but i don’t agree with the high marks it receives, it’s not really that great. Its strong and flavorful but harsh and rushed. But...this bottle of booker’s is something different. Beam figured out a way to eliminate the harsh part of booker’s and leave the strength behind. It isn’t nearly the flavor complexity of say george t stagg or elijah craig bp, but it is a solid solid bourbon. Now the price point...no, ridiculous. I had it at a bar, i had to try it, but i didn’t pay for it. Way too expensive for what your getting. I can get a lot of other bourbons for less. So yea its a special addition, but still, too much cash. I would pass unless you get a free drink.50.0 USD per PourHouston
