I have had this bottle for a while now and left it alone for a month or so, had a drink last night First few sips l had neat, and this guy is good but rough around the edges. Really strong punch upfront, but that is mixed with some good flavor-short lived though. Now a little addition of water actually thickened this bourbon up a bit, as weird as that sounds. The flavor really comes out strong, the proof decrease eases the drinkability, and this is now a velvety smooth full bold flavored whiskey. At this price, I like it, and will recommend a bottle to friends.50.0 USD per BottleHouston

Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed April 24, 2019Do you like belle meade? Well if that answer is yes, you need to get your hands on the bottle. Color wise this stuff is black coffee side by side with belle meade standard 90 proof bourbon. Neat, its stout, but not a choking bite stout, but stout like Guinness compared to corse light. With water or on the rocks, man it opens up like a nascar throttle. Flavors galore, chocolate super present, rich throughout all the way to the smooth finish. Just a damn excellent bottle of whiskey.65.0 USD per BottleHouston -
Redwood Empire American Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — USA
Reviewed March 25, 2019 (edited December 1, 2019)This was a ‘flyer’ i picked up on a recommendation. The first set of drinks were really smooth rich and tasty. The next set i noticed even more age and maturity to this whiskey. So i put it up back to back with some Blanton’s. Both 90 proof and Blanton’s a know good bottle. Well, Redwood outshines Blanton’s, a lot. Much more flavor and a much deeper color and flavor. I will buy more of this.50.0 USD per BottleHouston -
I really don’t like this. I am not sure why this hasn’t been discontinued from BTAC. I mean this is bad. Off the nose, smells great, then it hits your taste buds.... and its downhill I taste turpentine-yes floor cleaner. Its thin, not thick, and it taste like it was made by a guy in his garage, not a premier distillery. I love Handy, i will never pay more than $5/pour for this. I don’t like the MSRP much less the aftermarket for his one! Sorry BTAC, you are not perfect.30.0 USD per PourHouston

Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 12, 2019 (edited March 15, 2019)Without a doubt the best batch of bourbon that wild turkey has put out ...ever. I have tried a hand full of the special batches, and i have had plenty of russels, but the bottle is it. It is super rich and full of flavor, this bottle makes me believe that there is a distillery out there that can knock buffalo trace off the podium. This bottle is readily available and fairly priced, and man do you get your money’s worth.50.0 USD per BottleHouston -
Barrell Dovetail (122.9 Proof)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 8, 2019 (edited May 16, 2019)This is amazing, but its so different i have no idea where to start. If you are looking for the next member of BTAC, well this is not it. This is not traditional like Stagg, and its not a well aged rye like Handy. This is its own animal and its own category Right when u first smell a glass of this stuff you get sweetness. I pick up Kalua, yes the coffee flavored mud slide. Its a crazy start and it keeps going. First sips yield chocolate and more chocolate. Its hard to believe this is 120 proof. when the bourbon makes it through its a smooth smooth drink. I can’t recommend this bottle enough.80.0 USD per BottleHouston -
Bird Dog 10 Year Very Small Batch Bourbon (German Shorthaired Pointer)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 3, 2019 (edited February 26, 2021)A freind of mine picked this up and brought it over, told me it was really good. By itself this is a smooth solid well aged bourbon. To its demise, it taste younger than the age statement. That said, their and no harsh elements to be noted in this bottle. To compare i took another 10 year old bottle and compared the two, eagle rare vs bird dog 10yr. Same age, similar mash, same abv, both have badass animals on the label, and heck the bottles are even shaped similarly. Everyone knows eagle rare, so here goes my best quick comparison. Eagle rare is almost flat in comparison to the profile of bird dog. When compared side by side, you get fruit notes on the first sip that don’t exist in eagle rare. The flavors then take a fork in the road. ER goes off in a more astringent-medicinal direction, but bird dog goes the path of whiskey, think old traditionals like jack Daniel’s and jim beam-with more flavor. So in all, i like em both. I think bird dog has a flavor edge in the face off, but ER comes in $10-15 per bottle cheaper. In the end, you should own both.45.0 USD per BottleHouston
