Tastes

Pineapple and peach on the nose with a little bit of green apple and ginger. Mild rye spice slowly builds and leaks before becoming too hot. A slight coffee afterthought. Oak and sawdust on second waft. Honey on second taste. A nice medium finish.

Caramel candy, buttered popcorn and oak touch the nose. Vanilla and spice make a late but welcome entrance. Young corn and spice on the tongue. Vanilla and maple with a touch of chocolate and brine. For being so young, the corn isn’t as forward as one might expect. A finish of coffee lingers. As it breathes, grass and mint make a late appearance.

Vanilla and caramel on the nose with a hint of orange and cherry, cinnamon. Oak on the tongue, orange and clove. Nice long finish.

Apple and vanilla on the nose. Astringent on the tongue. More heat than flavor.

Opening with rye, caramel, and oak on the nose. Chocolate and spice on the palette. Nice long finish. Fifth drink so this will need a second review 🤣

Incredible amounts of oak on the nose, vanilla crème and a touch of cherry. Very spicy! Let it open up to get chocolate, cherry and a bit of leather. Long finish.

On initial waft, sourdough bread quickly followed by the sherry bleeding into peat. Orange fruit and mint on the tongue . Peat smokiness and pineapple follow.

Incredible amounts of oak and brine on the nose. Rye and spice cake on the tongue. Not a lasting finish but a great sipper.

‘63/‘71. Almost like a port on the nose. You know this is going to be chewy. Molasses. A surprising oak on the tongue. Swallow and breathe opens up delightful amounts of oak, butter and butterscotch. So much oak and sawdust. Love. Light on finish, long on history.
