Surprised how smooth this is for a rye as I’m used to Ryes that bring big spicy flavor, and this brings a whole different approach. There is definitely a lot of similarities between EHT Small Batch and this with Raisins. The nose is mild for a rye, with raisins, cinnamon, and dark fruits. The palate is really easy going for a rye, not too much heat or spice and is on the sweeter side. The finish is almost non-existant. For the price, I expected a lot more. I like ryes with some boldness to them, and it’s just not here. Might be a good rye for someone just getting into it, but I’d never pay $70 for that. Low rating on this one...6.1/1070.99 USD per Bottle

Have seen this price start to rise. At $40-$45, this is a great bottle, but anything higher and there are better options. Sweet nose that has some astringency to it, possibly from being the youngest of the EHT line. Raisins are the theme for this one for sure. The finish makes it for me, sweet, leathery, and raisins with enough spice to carry it through to your next sip. It’s a bit thin in the mouth, though. 8.2/10.49.99 USD per Bottle

Big step up from the Small Batch. The age really shines here. The sweetness is more dark chocolate, brown sugar and caramel. The nose is very smooth, little burn and has the dark theme of the chocolate, brown sugar and caramel with some oak and tobacco. The taste is smooth too with just the right amount of burn for a little hug at the end. The finish is awesome, I love the length of the finish and it really brings the nose home. Really enjoy this at $60-$65, but my score would go down slightly at a higher price. 8.8/1061.99 USD per Bottle

Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 2010
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2019 (edited April 13, 2020)I’d expect a single barrel to be at least 90 proof, but for ~$30, this definitely brings enough complexity to really enjoy. It’s an easy sipper that is smooth and enjoyable for any occasion. Mint is a common theme, with a nice balance of sweetness. Medium finish. Overall a solid pour! 7.9/1026.99 USD per Bottle
