Woodinville Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Washington, USA
Reviewed April 7, 2020 (edited June 14, 2020)If you like sweet bourbons, this is definitely for you. The nose is almost fresh strawberries. You’d think this is a finished whiskey. Very sweet nose with some traditional bourbon notes coming through as well. Palate is light, easy sipping. This has a pleasant finish that continues the sweet, fruity profile with some cream. This is a very easy sipper and a surprising pour out of the PNW state of Washington! 8.0/1039.99 USD per Bottle -
Trail's End 8 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky (bottled in Oregon), USA
Reviewed April 1, 2020 (edited November 7, 2022)Visited the tasting Room in Hood River, OR and bought Batch 004. This is an 8YR age-stated KY Straight Bourbon Whisky finishes with Oregon Oak staves. This tastes like a toasted barrel bourbon. Very smooth and a classic bourbon profile with a subtle woody toasted note, which reminds me of toasted graham crackers almost. Very enjoyable, unique bourbon! 7.7/1039.99 USD per Bottle -
Early Times Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 30, 2020 (edited May 16, 2020)Such a surprise pour. This is an outstanding value bourbon. To me, a vanilla bomb with some subtle complexity. I think Lux Row got a great batch of barrels in, because this aged incredibly well. Assuming 4-5yrs, this gives you all you need to know on the nose. Vanilla, spice, and a hint of bright fruit. Definite vanilla bomb. You get some oak, but nothing old or dusty/musty. Solid finish. This is just as good as it gets for a 4-5yr old whiskey. 4.2/524.0 USD per Bottle -
Single barrel, so obviously each barrel will have a unique profile. I got a great bottling. Nose is sweet with the traditional bourbon notes of rich caramel and some vanilla and the oak is definitely present. Tastes older than 10 years. Palate is solid, coats well and the theme continues. This has a great long sweet tooth finish. Caramel bomb, but a hint of vanilla and at the very end I get cotton candy. The 100 proof also brings some spice as well. Solid pour, especially at retail (under $35). Because of the price, this is easily a 8.4/10.28.0 USD per Bottle

Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2019 (edited August 20, 2019)Nose reminds me of my Dad’s shoe polish and my high school old library with some dark dried figgy fruit. I could spend all night smelling this pour. Great mouthfeel, full body with a little heat. The figgy taste follows through to the finish that has a nice linger that revisits the nose. 8.1/1039.99 USD per Bottle -
Rock Town Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Arkansas, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2019 (edited February 26, 2021)Well, this is aged 22mo. This was rated highly by Jim Murray, but really this is just a young whiskey with grain-to-glass being the reason for the price. It tastes young, but does have depth that I wouldn’t expect for 22 months in the barrel. Corn is prevelant throughout. The finish does bring the most depth with some light fruit and sweetness like vanilla. But for close to $50, there are just way better options out there. 5.7/1064.99 USD per Bottle -
Very smooth, as expected with a wheated bourbon. Definite caramel apple on the nose with light oak as well. The palate is smooth but actually has some light spice in there, which is surprising for a mashbill without rye. It’s a decent finish that balances with the nose nicely, same flavor profiles. Value-wise, I’m not sure if it’s worth the ~$60 tag, but you could do worse in that range too. 7.5/1062.99 USD per Bottle

I LOVE the finish on this. Peach is definitely the theme but the finish brings me back to little league baseball and chewing Bazooka Joe bubblegum. The nose definitely is sweet, fresh peachy fruit and light vanilla. The youth does show as its apparently aged 3yrs, so you taste the corn. Spice definitely kicks in the palate and again it shows it’s relatively young age. But the finish is so unique. It lingers forever!! You get the sweet peach, peppery heat, and some light new oak. But it costs your mouth so well that you lick your lips and have some bubblegum taste. One of a kind here for a 3yr old bourbon! 8.2/10!39.99 USD per Bottle

Slight singe on the nose, but not overpowering as expected for a “young” 114 Proof bourbon. The high rye mashbill is present throughout but enough sweet/flavor profile on the nose through the finish to make this a fine sipper or a great mixer. This is fantastic in manhattans or old fashioneds. 6.8/1023.0 USD per Bottle
