Jack Daniel's 12 Year Tennessee Whiskey (Batch 2)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed May 29, 2026 (edited May 30, 2026)Nose: maple, burnt brown sugar, oak, toffee pudding, bear claw pastry, if i try really hard I do get banana but I get the other notes more Palate: oak first, peppery and slight burn, toffee, rich Duhon: Again I had this the same night that yaya made that banana bread. This was a whiskey that everyone was hyping up and I looked for pretty extensively. I’ve tried this a few times and this is the 4th time. The nose is better than the taste in my opinion. It has gotten better, probably because its been aerating, but its still a let down to me compared to the hype. Still a good whiskey and pretty consistent but I prefer Jack Daniel’s single barrel barrel proof rye. Its more complex to me and I get that famous banana flavor more from that. Also Ive noticed that past a certain age in bourbon they start to blend more. Obviously they are still unique at that age but I noticed that some of my favorite whiskey’s fonr have insane age statemnts. -
Yellow Spot 12 Year Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed May 29, 2026 (edited May 30, 2026)Nose: cereal, sweet, light honey, nilla wafer, potentialy bannana and walnut Palate: cereal, barley, butter, light body, peppery, apricot, honey Duhon: this is an irish whiskey and very different than the bourbon we’ve been drinking. This is like that redbreast I gave you but this one is lower proof. Honestly I was reaching with some of these smells and tastes for your sake. Personally I don’t think I apreciate this whiskey the way it should. Its a little too light and single toned for me but I could of just lost my palate for it. Also yaya was making banana bread while I was tasting this, so that might have altered my input.
