Paint, varnish, compost, and the sweet smell of death on the nose! On the tongue is a completely different story, with sweet apples and honey and light peat and brine undertones. The taste is inoffensive (unlike the nose), but also uninspiring.

Light bourbon-like sweetness and baking spices on the nose. Light baking spices, vanilla sweetness, and honeysuckle on the tongue with a light mouth feel. Good, complex entry-level scotch.

Peat, brine, minerals, and seaweed on the nose. Light peat undertones that give way to a honey-like sweetness on the tongue. Wonderfully balanced, briny on the finish.

You're immediately greeted with aromas of caramel, vanilla, and spicy maple syrup. The rich taste and mouth feel are obvious, with elements of oak, brown sugar, and baking spices. It is warm and spicy on the tongue, but the burn is far from overpowering, especially for the high proof. The oaky finish is light and delicate. This is truly an exceptional example of single barrel, cask strength bourbon.

The nose is filled with light smoked peat, an overall sweetness, and a distinct buttermilk undertone. The palate is less peaty than smokey, with pickled apples. This is a good entry-level scotch and an easy drinker.

There is a sweet astringency on the nose, somewhat like wood varnish, along with dried fruits and caramel. Dry sherry, oak, caramel, and toffee hit the tongue with an herbaceous undertone. This bourbon has an oily mouth feel and a drying finish. This is a very good bourbon with a distinct drying effect. Great if you're looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.
