Tastes

Nose is pure caramel apple. Tasting neat is a touch heavy on the palate, particularly from the alcohol. Opens up beautifully with a single ice cube or a few drops of water. Stronger barrel proof makes it a bit nicer than “stock” Blanton’s to me.

Sweet but not artificial or cloying. What I think of as a classic bourbon with a pleasant palate and a clean finish that lingers for a few seconds with each sip. Lives up to the hype.

Sweet on the nose. Pleasant for 46% alcohol. Brown sugar is the first (only?) note I smell. Enjoyable and well rounded on the palate. Not harsh at all, easily accessible. Little but if alcohol burn on the back, oak only shows up in the aftertaste. Easy drinking, good to share with someone just opening up to bourbon?
