Tastes

My introduction to the wonderful world of Laphroaig and peat. And I hated every drop of it. Like drinking medicinal iodine and road tar. But every cloud has its silver lining - went on to explore other Laphroaig thereafter and I'm now a fan!

Rather similar to Hibiki 12, still trying to wrap my mind around it. Light, fruity, zesty and sweet. Plays well into the highball category. 3.5 stars.

Fig, cherry, crisply toasted brioche, some oaky bite but overall warm and rich. Too expensive these days to secure a full bottle!

It's hard to beat the Hibiki 12, but this one edges it out by an inch. Smooth, rich, luxurious and makes my mouth water.

A standard bearer. Good everyday dram. Smooth enough neat but better on the rocks.

My bottle's been opened about 2 years. Soft but flavourful hints of peaty malt, tinge of sweetness and a smooth body. Still good after all this time. A 4.5 stars in my books!

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Why they still sell this vile red label is beyond me. Sharp and harsh. Good with mixers only. Period.
