1800 Cristalino Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed April 28, 2022 (edited August 21, 2022)Being a Mexican, can tell this is real quality tequila. Nose is fruity and just a little wisp of that herbaceous note, perfectly balanced with the rest of notes like smoke, minerality, and kind of musty. The pallate is a BOMB, the 6 months in port casks really come up front, this is a complex spirit as it marriages in an armonious way the sweetness and raisiness of port, herb and mineral notes of agave, and the spicy Oak vanilla notes of the first casks all wraped up in a subtle, gentle but meaningful curtain of smoke as the finale. Go ahead friends, its a safe purchase. -
Nose its like bacon and brisket topped with charcoal. Odd as it may sound it is DELICIOUS. The palate is complex, full and oily, at first the peat and pepper strikes but in a pleasant way, then the iodine, salty and barley notes come in. Finish is medium-long with peat and roasted fruit. Damn, it is really good indeed.
