Tastes

I picked up a bottle in my search for a guilt free daily drinker and I think I've found it. Tastes excellent neat, as I like it and is inexpensive enough to mix with soda if I'm in that type of mood. Spicy, not too sweet, smoky, enough wood flavor and has a pleasant burn. Will sit on my bar alongside Noah's mill, four roses single barrel, and bookers as my favorites.

I love huge peat so I bought this to try as it was only 19 dollars at my local store. It's not peaty enough to be a favorite of mine, but nothing is at this price. Its actually very drinkable, and seems to me like a poor man's highland park. I like the light bodied quality. It's not very complex, only 40% so very little burn, and clearly young, but the Laphroaig in it gives me some of the smoky quality I crave. Due to the price I'll keep a bottle around.

Had this at one world, full bodied,little to no smell was observed. Fruity notes very evident amongst mild smoke. Not really complex but plesent enough

A hotter ardbeg 10. No peat is lost, it's smokier and more peppery, which I really like. If you get past that, the classic ardbeg flavors come through. Adding a splash of water helps release even more smoke and tame the burn

Excellent flavor, but less kick you in the pants than the 10 year. The extra aging makes for a unique experience that results in a more tame peat flavor when compared to the 10. More like lagavulin but with the Laphroaig palate
