You got at 46% non chill-filtered. There is something beautiful about this natural light straw color. I like a dram that doesn't hide its age. Strong alcohol presence on the nose, then butterscotch, fruit and vanilla. Quite oily, surprisingly briny, sweet and very spicy. In that order. The strong cinnamon and pepper spice make way to lingering bitterness of cocoa and mint. This is super nice. I like it spicy and this one delivers.

The first couple of times I sipped this bottle I was not a big fan, and I blame Jura Superstition for perhaps setting the bar of my expectations a bit too high. This Jura 10 is a very decent dram, whose low abv doesn't do it justice. Nose: caramelized pears and peaches, bubble gum berries and of course a hint of smoke. Palate: Oilier than I recall from previous sips, and spicier as well, not just in the finish. There more you sip, the more prevalent the smoke becomes, as well as the vanilla. Finish: bitter cacao nibs, slight peppery spice and Peat smoke.

This is for Ace Spirits barrel selection from 2018 I believe. First thing the nose reminds me of is high esters Jamaican rum like Hampden's. Nose texture? I think I finally found it. Alcohol attack is subtle for its high proof. These give way for sweetness. Fermented honey and dried figs. Palate is warm and inviting, marble cake with rum raisins. :then the high proof pounces a bit, leaving a nice afterglow finish of sweet brown sugar with cardamom spice. For some strange reason this 100% wheat of a dram screams RUM. I would definitely spike my tea with this one.

Honey, marzipan and candied apples on the nose. Delicate for a Bourbon yet elegant. Wood shavings add some dustiness. Palate is tart and nutty, there's a citrus caramel toffee there somewhere. Smooth and oily texture. Black pepper and slightly astringent cocoa finish. Mild but long.

Nose is sweet. Cherry pie with vanilla and grain notes. Palate is oily and thick. Brown sugar. Spicy finish with cacao and black tea. Damn good Bourbon. Not too super complex but very good.

On the nose first alcohol varnish, then a sweet artificial fruity note on top, a bazooka bubblegum, with some caramel. There is a strong grain presence, that is unusual for me in Bourbon, however it is not overpowering like it could be (thinking of some new malt distilleries that haven't found their way yet). Vanilla. Unlike many other Bourbons the palate entrance is not so sweet but bitter and tart, making way for more citrus acidity and then sweetness emerges. Woody and grainy. Texture is excellent. Oily mouthfill with some graininess. Finish is cinnamon and light ginger spice, and minty bitterness with chocolate notes. Long and slightly astringent.

Barrel 4086, barreled on 12.10.07 Nose: Honey and caramel, wood varnish, orange peel, Oily texture, very pleasant. Palate:sweet entrance with bits of coconut and toffee caramel, quickly the spice takes over, black pepper ginger and wood tannins astringency. Finish: oak, black pepper and mint, light chocolate notes. Very solid, very tasty.

Batch 50, bottled 2.23.18 Nose: wood varnish, toasted pecans and pecan pie Palate: burnt caramel, brown sugar, Texture: light oiliness coats the mouth Finish: burnt caramel, coffee, cardamom and cinnamon spices, getting Spicer with further sips, getting into ginger territory.

Nose: Fudge, Apples, Cherries.Nuts and grains behind. High notes of strawberries in cream. Palate: the most prominent notes are actually bitter and spicy. Starts with walnuts morphs into coffee and surprisingly becomes a sweet and spicy butterscotch. Lovely oily texture. A bit astringent.
