Tastes

So this has more of a herbal nose, and a taste to boot. Little hot, but finishes surprisingly mild. I know I have had this years ago, but this isn’t my favorite. It’s good, but not the taste profile I usually want out of a bourbon. It’s a higher proof, and was tried neat.

Fantastic cherry and vanilla taste. Nose gives you the same, I found the finish to be the best part, little hot but you get so much of that blackberry and cherry cola, it’s worth it. Great bottle - adding this to my regular rotation.

Hot on the nose, picking up some floral notes and maybe a little creme brûlée. It’s got a unbelievably strong and velvety vanilla finish, with a warm Kentucky hug all the way down. It’s 100 proof, but again you really get ALOT of that toasted vanilla and baking spices. It’s really delicious to be honest.

This one is hot. Nose doesn’t given too much, little sugar and spice but nothing too distinct, it’s still a good nose. Palate is harsh, but the finish is great. This is a literal bad boy.

Honey and spice on the nose. You really get honey here, it’s very pleasant. Not too much heat, actually very mild. Palate is very very silky, I taste some nutmeg and brown sugar, and the finish gives me back that honey. I hate honey, in life, but it’s so good here. Four Roses will be next Buffalo Trace, their bottles are just a must.

McKenna is one of those bourbons people either love or hate. Nose is harsh, but the taste is full, vanilla and spices hit the palate. I find this to be a delicious every day grab.

Rich, full and hearty, with a nice balance of chocolate sweetness and grain. I loved this bottle, will keep trying these.

Sweet succulent fruits and full Carmel toffee flavor here. This is a an incredibly tasty rye. Will be enjoying this all winter long.

Nose: it has a almost sugary sweet smell definitely can pick up a bit of Vanilla Bean to it as well. Taste: oily, sugar candy taste that coats your throat, I feel like I get some bubblegum and tangy candy in the taste. Again with a strong vanilla bean finish. Overall - a freaky good bourbon. Will buy more.

Very Old Barton has to be in your steady go to collection of bourbon. Not too sweet, definitely has a fine finish and great mouth feel. Throw a cube in here or mix it - always great to have.
