Reminiscent of a peaty scotch with some floral/fruity notes. Strong upfront earthy taste and milder finish. Probably not enjoying as much as those who rate it so high

Finally got to try it 2/23/15. Smokey with nice pal taste. More smooth / mild than I would have expected. Lots of vanilla and smoke but not really smokey. Very good

Excellent whiskey. Aroma is sweet, honey-like, perhaps Apple, reminiscent of madiera with some oak. Mouthfeel is heavy. Taste is smooth and slightly sweet ending with the apple. There's a sharp fruit taste that some have described as anise. Very good.
