Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A119
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 13, 2020 (edited August 2, 2020)Starting with the nose this poor is bold, spicy with a burn of alcohol. The pallet continues with spicy and notes of vanilla and corn. Finish is long and with a great mouth feel that hangs on for days. One of my favorites! -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2019-04 "Beaten Biscuits"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed January 13, 2020 (edited January 19, 2020)My first Booker's experience and it did not disappoint! There are layers and layers of flavor that come and go with each additional sip. It is a higher proof poor that for me takes a few drops of water to bring out warm vanilla and cinnamon flavors that are hidden by the stronger flavors of oak and spice. Leather, ceder, and some honeysuckle are also present. -
Let me start by saying that the peat and smoke are not my thing. That being said, that's about all I can taste in this scotch. If you are looking for a peat bomb this is your drink. Finish is long lasting and alcohol burn is minimal making it more approachable. If I could just get on board with the peat and smoke I would have rated this higher.

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed January 13, 2020 (edited January 21, 2020)This is the bottle that turned me on to scotch. I was looking for something that was not supper peaty but still had some more traditional scotch notes. Smoke, sweet, floral, all are present with this very easy to drink 100 proof bottle. -
Another one of my favorites to let new whiskey drinkers try at the house. Price point is also great when you can find it. Lots of sweet and buttery smooth flavors. Vanilla, corn, caramel and hints of brown sugar are in the nose, on the pallet and in the finish. The finish is short and easy without any harsh alcohol bite. Good in mixers or neat, very good bourbon.

Peerless Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 13, 2020 (edited May 8, 2020)Picked up a bottle to share for a friends wedding and it went over well with the whole crowd. Nose does have some stronger alcohol smells along with vanilla, almond and cloves. Pallet continues with the heat and spice that is present up front but is not hard to get past. Finish lasts for days. A few drops of water and this one opens up to more flavors of corn and caramel.
