Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 28, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)Butterscotch sweetness and nail polish on the nose, tingly spiciness on the tongue. I need to compare with Auchentoshan 12. It reminds me of this one. -
Bulleit Bourbon Barrel Strength
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 3, 2018 (edited July 21, 2018)Damn smooth -
Pretty rough, but drinkable. Cinnamon, maple syrup and caramel on the nose, then a freight train full of rubber and tree bark on the palate. Filling (like “I feel full”), and a long afterburn (though not unpleasant...just long). It bites like a Rye as well. This was a housewarming gift from way back when, so I am glad I tried it neat, but a glass of Coke or Ginger Ale will be the final resting place for this one.

Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 31, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Very good! Syrupy sweet, and peppery. -
Certainly easy to sip. Smells lightly of rubbing alcohol, peppermint (extremely light, but it’s there), and sweet caramel. Slightly oily on the tongue, and peppery heat, that does linger on the lips and tongue, and can be unpleasant if that’s not what you like. Not a complex bourbon, but well worth the $25 price tag.
