I'm here tasting on New Year's Eve 2019 and appreciating the absolute smoothness of this whisky. I understand it doesn't have the smack in the face of other whiskies in its category but small sipping and nosing now I have to say absolutely delicious and glad to have in my collection. Very recommended!

Just for a change I thought I would try a bottle of Stolichnaya which is a highly rated grain vodka so I could compare it to my many year standby of this Monopolowa which is a potato vodka. I usually only have vodka in Martinis with Garlic Stuffed Olives but want ted to compare neat chilled to 70 degrees and served in Glencairn glasses so I could nose and taste better than a shot glass. I have to say I'm not sure what the reviewer here was tasting or if she is a "paid reviewer" but I do not find this one BITTER & HARSH or @ a rating of 64. I think the Stoli is a quality Vodka and at twice the price of this one but I actually prefer the flavor and experience better with the MONOPOLOWA. I buy this at Trader Joes here in Socal in the 1000ml bottle for $10.50 vs. the Stoli 750ml for $17 on 12/29/2019 Decide for yourself..............Slainte!

I'm not rating at first pour as I would like to spend some time with the whisky as the bottle opens up. What I will state right now is that its so light it makes it hard for me to get anything out of this whisky. I think there should be an international law that prohibits whisky producers from selling whiskies under 92 proof and especially under 86 proof. Green Spot @ 80 proof is simply too weak to enjoy the flavor profiles offered in a whisky!

Booker's Bourbon Batch 2019-03 "Country Ham"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 14, 2019 (edited December 18, 2019)Have had the bottle open for about 2 months now. Nice nose but has some off putting flavor to my palate. I see its rated highly but tastes like a young whisky with noticeable alcohol burn! -
Ironroot Harbinger (115 Proof)
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2019 (edited March 30, 2022)After sampling much better bourbons I'm bringing this one down .5 point and also will not buy again. Much better bourbons out there for the price. Notable alcohol burn after watering down to 92 proof and being open for many months. -
