This was my first Grain Whisky and first 27 year. Initially I thought I wasted my money and said never again as it was quite a good value for a 27 year. It took over 6-8 months to start opening up but once it did I was quite amazed by the transformation. This confirmed my journey into old grain whisky!

Open now for 15 months and even worse. Just a inferior whisky with a great age statement and cask finish. For me Tomatin is just a very poor quality distillery. Life is to short to revisit this low quality distillery with cheaply made products!

I was hoping to love this one but unfortunately its over hyped and just not that memorable as the quality is fairly low but the bottle presentation looks quality but I will noy be buying any more young spirits from Billy Walker! Hard to believe a bottle can go flat after such a short time but thats the only thing I can attribute this tasting to. I'll think I will gas this now and check back in the future to get a new tasting perspective.
