Kind of reminds me of Ragged Branch, and I’m about as much of a fan of them as I am of this. Yuck. Tea.

Not bad for the price. First toasted barrel bourbon I’ve tried and it was cool to pick up those notes. Pleasant caramel-vanilla nose. Taste the vanilla notes but get more spice than I like in my bourbon. None of the famous Jim Beam peanut notes, unfortunately.

Some nice caramel and vanilla notes that I seek out in a bourbon, but too much spice for me. Want to like it but too spicy. Update after being open for about 6 months: Have really grown to enjoy this. The spicy notes have subsided and it’s really settled into delicious classic bourbon flavors.

I understand it’s Whistle Pig, but I picked this up hoping it wouldn’t have rye flavors. I shouldn’t have. Spicey, hot, thin.

Spice, mint, and cinnamon. Womp. I love Russell’s Reserve, so I assumed I’d like most Wild Turkey products. I couldn’t be more wrong. The nose was delicious with caramel and vanilla. But once I tasted it, those great flavors drowned into spice and mint. Not my bag.

Honey is the main note I get, but not overly sweet. Nicely balanced with barrel char. Drinks below its proof.

I like the sweetness but can’t get past the mint notes. Wish there were more smoky flavors too.

Peanuts/peanut brittle. Really enjoy the flavors. Drinks hotter than the proof? Will return later after trying it more. 7 years 4 months. CL-W warehouse.

Caramel, bananas, oak, caramel—all flavors deep and complex. Neat with the smallest splash of water.

Best bang for the buck? Corn, sweet, easy drinking. Really enjoyed it.
