At $120 retail, this is almost like a bargain for an ultra-old bourbon. For 22 years in the barrel, there's just the right amount of oak. This is a surprisingly balanced whiskey. I loved the Barterhouse and found that each pour got better the more air got into the bottle. I can't wait to see what a little breathing time does for this!

Barterhouse 20 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 3, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)This guy gets a bum rap because of the BS backstory. I've really enjoyed it since the first couple of pours have let it breathe a little. Toffee, oak and vanilla on the nose. Oak, cinnamon and toffee on the palate. Not much of a finish, but I'm still a huge fan. Can't wait for the Lost Prophet to make its way to a store near me!
