Weller 12 Year Bourbon
Bourbon
Weller // Kentucky, USA
Wheated bourbon is bourbon with wheat as the predominant grain in the mash bill after corn. Traditionally, rye takes that second billing. Weller 12 Year is often referred to by some as the "poor man's Pappy".
With the exception of the 23 Year Pappy Van Winkle which still has some Stitzel-Weller juice in it, all Pappy and Weller bourbons use the Buffalo Trace wheated mash bill. The main difference will be in the barrel management. .

Tasting Notes
"The nose and flavor profile shows notes such as vanilla, orange peel, and chocolate all loaded up with warming baking spices. The proof helps to tighten up the whiskey and is less cloying as a result. Is pecan maple syrup a thing? Because if it is not, it should be. This whiskey seems to show this in spades. The whiskey warms in your throat and belly, so the only thing missing really is a fresh plate of flapjacks. "
