The Orphan Barrel Project is a collection of different whiskeys "found" in Diageo's rickhouses. Barterhouse is from the current Bernheim distillery in Kentucky, but bottled in Tennessee. This is a 20 year old straight bourbon (though this designation is not listed on the bottle) and has a mash bill of 86% corn, 8% barley, and 6% rye.

Tasting Notes

"Maple butter and vanilla are in the forefront of the whiskey while leather and a touch of char smoke play in the background. Rich and with smattering of cherry fruit, this whiskey isn't asking much from you from an intellectual standpoint. If you prefer a softer, sweeter style of bourbon, Barterhouse is for you. If you like things a bit more rugged and spicy, buy Rhetoric."
