Knob Creek 9 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed February 11, 2022 (edited March 19, 2022)The initial heat gives way to a mild oak flavor followed by a subtle sweetness similar to caramel. The spiciness really comes through on this bourbon, too. Great finish with lasting spice and bitters. -
Nose is sweet with hints of vanilla and banana nut bread. Taste is super thin, sweet with some spice, and definitely lacking in complexity. Finish is almost non existent. It's not bad. All good, in fact. I love anything from Buffalo Trace. Definitely a bourbon to use for mixing light cocktails. Not sure one could expect much more from an $11 bottle of bourbon.

Nose was initially like wet leather, but gave way to a sweet smell with hints of cinnamon. Nothing elaborate or special. Taste was meh. Sweet leather is the best I've got. Short, almost no finish other than alcohol and a bit of earthiness. Again, nothing special here at all. May be best to use for mixing. This bourbon would be decent if it sat in the barrel a few more years.
