Glenfiddich 18 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2018 (edited December 30, 2018)Sweet on the nose, smells like Christmas pudding. There is an initial warm greeting of raisin and apricot, followed by dates and a dash of cinnamon. Taste mimicked the nose. Smooth on the way down due to the age and ABV. There was an oaky taste in the middle. Finish was distinctly sherry. -
Nose: unmistakeable sherry notes on the nose. These aren’t sweet fruits though. I smell something closer to cranberry, maybe prune? Palate: I don’t find chocolate, but it does have fruity notes. Maybe the chocolate I was looking for was milk, while this was dark. Maybe dark chocolate, it doesn’t taste the 46%. It’s watered down. Didn’t taste as well as I remembered Finish: smoke
