High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple CountriesReviewed December 31, 2016Stay away if you don't like smoke! One of my favorite things about camping is making a fire. This mix is like they bottled the smoke from a campfire! A bit strong out of the bottle but when you add ice - WOW! Close your eyes and the taste of smoke from a fire fills your mouth. It is truly remarkable how well they balanced this. As others have noted, when you get tired of your go-to and want something special, this is what you need. Still trying to figure out a amore-inspired drink to make with this...
Templeton Rye 4 Year
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Iowa), USAReviewed December 31, 2016Smoothest Rye I have tasted... But my rye experience is limited to Rittenhouse and High West double. Still spicy but very easy to drink... Add a bit of ice and you get a great sipper.
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed December 31, 2016So my first exposure to EC was the small batch and I have yet to find a bottle of 12 year to compare it to so keep that in mind if you keep reading... The small batch is sold at a local Costco so I can get this for $22.50 plus tax... Which is awesome and bad at the same time... One of the few Bourbons I can drink neat over and over but it is a fantastic mixer as well. Burnt sugar and vanilla on the nose give way to a sweet honey finish with only a hint of spice. This is my go-to Bourbon to share with all my friends and provide to newbies as their intro to Bourbon. For the money, this is the best Bourbon for everyday drinking and a must-have in your cabinet.
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed December 31, 2016Had a taste of this in a shared tasting flight at the Bourbon House in NOLA. As the reviewer noted here, this is pretty complex and ultimately extremely satisfying. A single ice cube changed the profile dramatically for me. Going out to buy a bottle today!
Angel's Envy Rye Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks
Rye — USAReviewed December 31, 2016Incredibly smooth with strong vanilla-caramel nose. Needs to breath a bit and adding a touch of ice brings out a cinnamon finish.
