Templeton Rye // Indiana (bottled in Iowa), USA
Templeton Rye is a rye brand that was introduced in 2006. Distilled in Indiana by MGP (formerly Lawrenceburg Distillers of Indiana), the rye is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley. The whiskey is bottled in Iowa after the addition of a "proprietary formula" as well as local purified water. Templeton broke ground on a distillery in Iowa in 2017 with plans to distill their own whiskey.
RyeMash bill at least 51% rye; aged in new, charred oak barrels.

"Tasting notes on this rye differ from batch to batch, but Templeton always keeps a nice nose of woods, spice, and heat. A light middle of the tongue burn gives way to caramel notes, Red Hots and a touch of brown sugar. Quick to moderate finish keeps with the nose and brings back the nice taste of wood."
