Tastes

Barrel pick from Binnys (best stores in the Chicago area). Warehouse P, Floor 4, Rick 020. I've had other releases before which are solid, but this is simply great. Peanut butter, fudge, caramel. Drinks lower than 120 proof. Tried some 94 Elijah Craig next to this, and it was somehow sweeter. Beautiful dark amber. This one is hard to beat.

Green apple. Mellow and easy.

Originally not a fan, but this one has grown on me. It's heavy and could use some time in a glass. Brown sugar, mollases, butterscotch, Werther's candy. Nice spice and bite on the finish with that high proof.

Color is light, like an apple cider almost. Drinks like a bourbon and finishes like a delicate scotch with a little smoke on the finish. Clean. Fresh bread.

Honey and more honey. Raisins. Walnuts.

Sweet and bright. The sweetness hits you in the face, in a good way. Nice char finish. A classic.

Sweetness on the nose. Cinnamon and baking spice. Rye is not heavy (in a good way). Tastes like a very well made product - very smooth and balanced. The finish leaves a tingle on the tongue, but still very smooth and drinkable at the same time. Reminds me of a Knob Creek product with the peanut-y finish.

Hard to figure this one out. Fresh cut grass, bitter finish. Thinner than expected for 93 proof. I prefer the generic release.

Sour. Short finish.
