George Dickel x Leopold Bros Collaboration Blend (2021 Release)
Rye
USA
This whiskey is a blend of straight rye whiskeys -- one is a traditional column still rye distilled in Tennessee at Cascade Hollow Distilling Co., home to George Dickel and the other was distilled at Colorado's Leopold Bros on their Three Chamber Rye still.
Not only is this collaboration a first, but this is also the first time that a rye whisky has been released by Cascade Hollow. Bottled at 100 proof, this is a "highly limited release" which hits shelves as of December 2021.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
Tasting Notes
"The nose is complex with a mix of sweet and savory notes such as green herbs, sweet tobacco, smoked vanilla, and baked apple. As you move on to the palate, you'll find a spicy and dry whiskey (but not too dry). More apples are found coupled with cherries as you exhale as well as a bit of milk chocolate. Tastes more savory than sweet; it's a whiskey which keeps revealing itself as you drink. Make sure to spend some time with it, particularly on the nose. A must buy for any American whiskey fan."
