Batch C-243, bottle 143. Poured into a glencairn. Nose isn't overwhelming, and smells sweet. I find the small amount of heat/pepper is on the tip of the tongue, and an overwhelming note of green apples toward the back of the tongue. Almost even a sour apple taste. The finish is short and quick with very little heat but heavy oak. Better bourbons at the price-point, but it's a nice sipper.

Belle Meade Cask Strength Single Barrel Bourbon 9 Year
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed July 14, 2016 (edited January 22, 2020)This bourbon is a little harsh if you drink it neat, but adding a few drops of water REALLY opens it up, and it is absolutely delicious. Lots of sweet notes, and very buttery. The heat from the proof hits the roof of your mouth, instead of your throat as you drink it. It costs about $50-60, and is worth it. #318, bottle 106, 105.5 proof. -
Old Grand-Dad Bonded Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 14, 2016 (edited October 4, 2017)Would never guess it's a high rye. It's very sweet and has a thicker feel as you drink it. Nice slow, low burn after the drink. One of my favorites right now, and an absolute steal at $20 -
MB Roland Still and Barrel Proof Bourbon

Reviewed May 12, 2016 (edited June 25, 2019)SB4 New #4 Char, Bottle 6 of 105, aged 2 years, 110.7 proof Nose: snickers bar, caramel, nuts Burn is on the back end with no bite up front. Earthy, peat moss, caramel, butterscotch. Has the taste of a Clif Bar. At $65 this is a fantastic and interesting single barrel bourbon. For only being aged 2 years, it has depth and is pretty smooth.
